Prayer Garden

Let us walk with Jesus during these 40 days in the desert with prayer and fasting, seeking a closer relationship with our Lord, preparing ourselves for the joy of Easter!

I am a native North Carolinian, while my wife, Ana Maria, is from Portugal. We are both followers of are our Lord Jesus, and we strive to please Him in all that we do and are. How wonderful is His mercy upon our lives - lives that were once lived in rebellion and sin. Ana Maria and I are involved in daily Bible reading, intercessory prayer and various ministries. We love to sing, visit coffee houses and occasionally dance. I've recently become inspired to pick up my pastels again and paint. I have a blog dedicated to that very interest! All in all, we live in light of the day when our Lord calls us to live with Him FOREVER!

Prayer Requests

Hello! Welcome to our Prayer Garden! Ana Maria and I have a strong desire to serve our Lord through the ministry of intercessory prayer. As a matter of fact, we believe God has called us to just such ministry. We believe God wants to do so much for His children if only we'd pray and believe! We keep a prayer journal by our bed with requests we take before our Lord, knowing He hears and answers according to our faith and His will.

If you have a special need you'd like for us to pray about, please let us know by posting your request in the "comment" section. We promise to bring your request before the Lord, and we will continue to do so until we hear from you that your prayer has been answered.

As all comments and prayer requests are public on this site, please join us in a circle of prayer for the needs you may see posted here. We ask that you pray for our ministry as well, as Christians should lift up one another wherever we are in the world.

Thank you for stopping by, and may God bless you!

This blog is such a great idea, I actually just found out that a friend at work has to have surgury. They don't know yet if it's cancer or something else. He also told me that he's having to go to marriage counseling because his wife is wanting to leave him because he's always working. His name is Earl, and I gave him some ideas and recomended some relationship books, but it would be great if we could pray for him and his family too. Thanks.

I'd like prayer for a friend of a friend; her husband is close to death and she and her family really need comfort right now.

They are Ed and Kelley. More info can be found at the website: http://www.edhorn.info/index.html

Thank you for offering your time to pray for those who request it. I have some 'unspoken requests'. A church I attended when I was younger called this a request that you do not wish to share because it's personal. I have a few, which God has been seeing me through, and I need his continued comfort and guidance.
I also have a request for my brother, who has been undergoing tests to see if he has Lymphoma, which is cancer..........Thank you, and God Bless

Marie and "Anonymous", we have added your requests to our prayer journal for intercession. We will certainly carry these requests before the Lord. Keep your trust in Him, as He tells us to cast our every care upon Him.

I continue to have 'unspoken requests'... but wanted to share the good news. My brother does not have cancer!! While what he does have is not curable, it is treatable. (The doctor said he had one or the other, and the biopsy showed it wasn't the cancer) Although he's in for years of treatment. Thank you for your prayers, and please continue praying for his family as well as him as he goes through this health issue. God Bless

I'm so glad you're offering this website! Mike and Ana you are truly wonderful people. I'd like to remain anonymous, but am in need of prayer. I have prayed, cried, yelled, & complained & nothing has worked....I ended my marriage Monday. He has a drinking problem, & tho he isn't abusive, he refuses to seek help. I can't fight his demons alone either! This is the 3rd marriage for me and I keep asking myself how I am doing this all wrong? Why does it keep happening to me? I work & pay majority of the bills & rarely ask for much financially from him, so I don't see it as anything other than his drinking as a problem. I feel broken and alone right now, but I do have friends and family trying to help console me, but it's not the same. I have continued to pray and now, here I am. Please help me pray for God to heal me, make my scars from the past relationships heal and for God to send me someone truly worthy to be with me. Thank you again, Confused in NC

Dear Anonymous (who posted this morning at 7:41am),

Please know that we are taking your request before the Lord who sees and understands all things. Please continue to seek Him, as we too will continue praying for you in the weeks to come. The Lord never sleeps-nothing escapes His notice. He sees you, and He loves you.

We pray that as you learn to lean upon Him, you will see how truly faithful He is.

I just had to say what an inspiring thing it is that you are called to this ministry. I will pray that you are upheld and blessed in it. God is glorified by this devotion He inspires in His own. Bless you.

Josh is going through a trying and confusing time and I am asking you to lift him up and remember him in prayer. I thank you for the priviledge.
